Map and Driving Directions

At the top of the Fremont Bridge move into the far right lane. This becomes the directional lane for Northwest Industrial and St. Helens (angling to the right off the bridge). Stay in the far right lane, which becomes the exit lane for Vaughn St. The first light is at 23rd Avenue. Go through that light (still on Vaughn) to the next light, which is at 25th. Turn left on 25th and go across Northwest Portland toward the hills. You will notice that the named streets are in alphabetical order. When you come to the intersection of 25th, Johnson and Westover (a maverick street that winds itself around the hills for about eight blocks), take a sharp right onto Westover and go up the hill half of a block. At this point Westover makes a sharp left turn. Instead of turning left, continue up the Heron Haus driveway, which meets Westover at this point. If you miss the driveway, you will see a rock wall, which begins on the right, immediately after the curve and driveway.

From I-5 coming north / I-405 North:

On I-5 stay to the left as you apporach the junction with I-405. This will put you on I-405 North. Stay to the left; do not get onto US 26. Once past US 26 take the Everett St. exit. Go through the first light at Everett St. to the second light at Glisan. Turn left onto Glisan. At 23rd Avenue, stay to the right because Glisan becomes a two-way street at that point. Continue on Glisan to 24th. Turn right onto 24th. Continue three blocks to a four way stop at Johnson. Turn left onto Johnson. Go one block to a three way stop. Bear right onto Westover and go up the hill for half a block. At this point Westover makes a sharp left turn. Instead of turning left, continue up the Heron Haus driveway, which meets Westover at this point. If you miss the driveway, you will see a rock wall, which begins on the right, immediately after the curve and driveway.

From the Airport (PDX) via Public Transportation:

Public transportation from the airport is via the MAX (Light Rail) Red Line.   (The Red Line schedule can be seen online at http://trimet.org/schedules/maxredline.htm.)   After claiming your baggage, walk to the exit farthest to the right on the street level. There are two ticket vending machines in the terminal building and another two outside on the Max platform at the right end of the building. Tickets may be purchased at these vending machines with cash or with a credit card. Ticket prices are $2.30 or 95 cents for honored citizens (over 65). You can't purchase tickets on board the trains. The Red Line ends at the airport, so there is no question about which direction to take the train.
 
Take the train to Jeld Wen Field (formerly PGE Park) (no need to transfer). The stop is about a mile from Heron Haus, but you should probably call a taxi there. The fare is about $10 including tip. Telephone number for Radio Cab is 503-227-1212. (You must dial the area code.) Jeld Wen Field is fairly large, so tell the dispatcher to have the taxi come to the Max stop at Morrison and 18th Avenue.
 
Have the driver come up the driveway at 2545 NW Westover Road. Tell him there is plenty of room to turn around.
 

From Union Station via Public Transportation:

Exit the station through the 'Exit to Street' doors. Turn right to the street (only 100 ft or so). Do not cross the street. (You'll see the bus stop immediately to your right.) Catch the 77 bus line toward Montgomery Park. Get off at 23rd Avenue and Overton (about a ten minute ride). Walk back down 23rd Avenue to Johnson. Turn right on Johnson and walk up to the intersection of Johnson, 25th Avenue and Westover. Bear right onto Westover and walk up the hill one block to Heron Haus at 2545 NW Westover Road.
 
Returning to the train station, you can catch the 77 bus at 25th and Northrup. It lets you off at the station.
